About

Murray Daigle is a Toronto-based record producer, mixing engineer and songwriter. He is senior engineer in residence at Phase One Studios, one of Canada's best-known recording facilities, and teaches advanced production and mixing at Centennial College.

He built MDS Recording from a house studio into a name-brand room trusted by Warner, Universal, Sony, EMI, Lava and Atlantic Records, where he was a development producer and demo engineer for the label's California A&R team. For Wind-Up Records in New York he produced, recorded and mixed Cauterize's So Far From Real, which charted in the US, landed placements in DreamWorks' EuroTrip and Nintendo's 1080° Avalanche, and has passed 9 million Spotify streams.

He co-wrote and mixed Neverest's Gold-certified SOCAN #1 "About Us," co-wrote, produced and mixed "Together We Are One," the official song of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games, and co-wrote and produced Eva Avila's "Shine" for Canada's Paralympic Team. Recent work includes the Post Tense singles (6M+ streams) and Steph La Rochelle's JUNO-nominated EP Wildflower.

His specialty is leading large, logistically complex productions from start to finish: multiple studios, big session-player rosters, and A-list artists, managers and labels. He is also an expert in music publishing and master-recording copyright, a subject he designed and taught at college level.
